Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only child of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already been offered a variety of television roles including the lead role in the Downfall film Youth Without Youth Control. Following her critically-acclaimed character in the TV film Der Tunnel, Alexandra went onto play more notable parts, including Adolf Hitler's secretary, Traudljunge, in Downfall. Downfall was nominated for an Oscar and received critical and commercial great success. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are two other Oscar nominees featuring models. Alexandra's career has seen her be involved in a variety of important national and international projects. They comprise British biographical films like Control and The Dust of Time as well as French historical miniseries Napoleon. Her other roles include being a jury member at two festivals: The Transylvania International Film Festival and Cannes Film Festival.
